CHANNEL 9 IS HERE!!!
That's right, SCTV has a new Channel: The Government Channel!!! For those who don't quite understand, SCTV is a PEG Access station. PEG stands for PUBLIC, EDUCATION, and GOVERNMENT. Up till now, Channel 8 has been both "Public" and "Government" while Channel 10 has been "Education". Now, Channel 9 will be dedicated solely to Government programming.

What this means is that all of your favorite town meetings (including Board of Selectmen, School Committee, and the Annual/Special Town Meetings) will air primarily on Channel 9!!! Even all of the other meetings (i.e. Board of Health, Board of Appeals, Planning Board, etc.) will migrate over to Channel 9.

The live meetings will simulcast on both Channel 8 & 9 for a few weeks until they eventually move over to Channel 9! This is a rare, and unique opportunity for a Cable Access station, and we hope you enjoy all the great programming that SCTV has to offer! Stay tuned as more programming joins our already large roster!!!

CANDIDATES SPEAK!
SCTV has also created another unique opportunity: Candidates Speak! This is a half-hour program in which candidates from ANY Saugus board or institution that requires a vote in November will be allowed to come in to the studio and videotape a 3-5 minute piece explaining your platform. Studio times reserved for such shooting are Wednesdays, 7-9pm, and Saturdays from 12-2pm, from September 21st to October 15th. Studio shoots are by APPOINTMENT ONLY, and space is limited. Candidates are allowed 15 minutes to shoot your 3-5 minute platform message. Interested Saugus candidates, please call (781) 231-2883 to schedule your time!

SCHEDULE NOTES
The SCTV Schedule begins on Saturdays. Hard copies can be found at Saugus Town Hall, Senior Center and the Library. You can also find our schedules online here. And, Channel 8 airs its schedule on the Bulletin Board daily. The Bulletin Board plays Mon-Fri at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, and 11pm (except Friday Night). It also airs when programs fall short of the half hour mark. Channel 9 does not have a set schedule yet. That is forthcoming...
